Lost Lives Over the Bikeweek Weekend
Saturday, 10 March 2007

Three friends have unfortunately lost their lives over the Daytona Bike Week '07 weekend.

Rick Taylor of Ricky T's, on Treasure Island, and John and Laura Taylor of Johnny WideBar and the Shovelheads (Band).

The ironic thing about these horrible tragedies is they all shared the same last name. The only two related are Johnny and his wife Laura. John and Laura died on their way home from Bike Week due to a blow out on their motorcycle. See their story below.

Please say a prayer for them and their families. You will all be deeply missed.

We will keep everyone posted on arrangements for Johnny and Laura as soon as we know.

And for Ricky Taylor, there will be a Celebration of Life, on Thursday, 3/8, 5pm at Ricky T's ... Please see below...

Rest in Peace my friends...We Love You!!!

Johnny Taylor on Right and his wife Laura were killed.

Couple killed in crash on way back from Bike Week

The couple was sharing this bike when the accident occurred.
State troopers say faulty equipment is to blame for the deaths of a St. Petersburg couple who were on their way back from Bike Week in Daytona Beach .
John Taylor, 45, and Laura Taylor, 39, were going westbound on I-4 Sunday in Seminole County when one of the tires on the bike they were riding separated. They lost control, crashed, and were ejected. John Taylor died at the scene and Laura Taylor died later at Central Florida Regional Hospital.
Investigators say simply checking out equipment can make all the difference for bikers.
"Obviously, they are more vulnerable on a motorcycle than they are in a car," said Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Kim Miller. "If a car tire were to go flat, it's obviously more dangerous if that happens on a motorcycle."
Bike Week kicked off Friday and four people have already been killed in bike crashes.
