Starting out early to the 3rd annual New Port Richey Bikefest, we arrived in time to check out all the vendors as they were setting up their wares. I was able to sit on a Yamaha Stratoliner, which was too wide for me but a nice looking cruiser, just the same.
The Pasco chapter of Angel Divas, Outlaws, and a host of others were there. The festival had a practical layout for browsing vendors and listening to the various bands that started playing later in the day. There were plenty of facilities to relieve you after filling up on brew and beverages.
Restaurants were very friendly and had special menus for the event. We dined at Fitzgerald's where they had yummy sandwiches and good beer on tap and longnecks. I hear they are known for their Irish nachos, which we intend to try on the next visit.
There were many unusual customs and phat looking bikes of different makes. In the City parking lot we watched demonstrations given by the “How to Ride like a Pro” team and sport bike stunt shows demonstrated by Stunt Shine State.
The Pasco Diva Angels had a couple of tables to encourage people to stop and sign Christmas cards for our troops. They are a warm bunch of women riders who are always looking for ways to contribute in a positive way to the community at large. If you are a female rider, that is interested in riding or belonging to an organization that makes a difference in Suncoast communities, this chapter is worth a look.
The main sponsors of the Cotee River Bikefest were: o Harley-Davidson of Tampa, Brandon, and New Port Richey o Venom o Hard Rock Hotel & Casino of Tampa This Bikefest was highly rated due to the way all the events and vendor locations were laid out. The entire venue encompassed most of the city so you didn’t feel claustrophobic at every turn. The New Port Richey Chambers of Commerce did a fine job organizing the event and I look forward to the next.
