Note: The information about the time he died was not accurate. The accident occurred AFTER the Toys for Tots run not during!

Neeley, Charles Dean "Dean-O," 26, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday (Dec. 3, 2006) from injuries sustained in a motor scooter accident while on the Toys for Tots Motorcycle Run. He was born in Kansas City, Mo., and moved here in 1998 from Kansas City, Kan. He worked in the dietary department of St. Petersburg General Hospital. He enjoyed spending time at Biff Burger. Survivors include his father, Larry D., Cameron, Mo.; three brothers, Kenneth L. Neely and J.L. Rupard, both of Pecullar, Mo., and Michael Passler, Tonganoxie, Kan.; a sister, Dawn Swartz, Kansas City, Kan.; his stepfather, Joe Passler, Tonganoxie; and a caregiver, Janice Adair, St. Petersburg. Just so everyone knows, we told the entire family we would not let Dean ride in the Toy's for Tot's run that morning, because he was too inexperienced. They chose to put the information in his obituary that this happened during that run. I don't know why they did but they all knew it was not true way before this obit was ever written.
